Foundation Solar Energy Recycling Netherlands: the right way to process discarded solar panels

In The Netherlands, manufacturers and importers of solar energy products are legally required to comply with the regulation regarding Afgedankt Elektrisch en Elektronisch Afval (AEEA), the Dutch implementation of the European guideline Waste Electrical Electronic Equipment (WEEE). The AEEA has been in force since February 2014.

As a result, the Foundation Solar Energy Recycling Netherlands was established. The Foundation Solar Energy Recycling Netherlands wants to ensure the proper, environmentally-friendly processing of solar panels and inverters at the end of their lifespan for its participants. By participating in the foundation, Dutch importers and producers of solar panels can comply with the AEEA regulation. The foundation was established with the support of the Dutch branch organisation for the solar industry Holland Solar.

Jan Albert Timmerman supports the Foundation with regards to various legal matters.
